What a sight

So when you wake up in the morning,
open your front door to the world,
take a look to your left  and see this...

Shiver....
then take a look to your right
and see this...

Shudder....

then maybe you can head off to work
 and appreciate this...

Sigh....

There are blessings everywhere
We just have to be open to them.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Love,
D

Snow puppy on parade

It snowed this week...
Poor Mickey.....all this snow and that was AFTER I cleared the infamous 'pee path!'

and snowed...
I think now is about the time he's beginning to realize at some point,  'I'm going to have to squat in this stuff to do my business!"

and snowed!

It was pretty, it was deep and I'm done now.

Spring anyone?
Have fun but stay safe.
Love,
D

Hello, 2011!

JAN
Happy New Year friends! I hope you all had a safe & happy new year. No matter how you celebrated – I hope it was special all the same.
I hate the entire “resolutions” thing because I feel like I should be constantly challenging myself with new things anyway. But, to be honest, life kicked me in the but during 2010 and I haven’t set any goals for myself in a while – so what better time to do that than now?

Following are a list of random thoughts that I will strive to put into action a little better for the year of 2011…
> Relax. This is something I struggle with so much. I get serious ants in my pants when I have nothing to do but sit around – which is rare, but it does happen  and instead of figiting and always living in the next moment, I would like to take that time and just enjoy the moment of where I am and what I have accomplished. Just sit and think or paint my toenails or sketch or daydream. I need to realize that it’s okay to do nothing for a few minutes.
> Make more time for my friends. I get so wrapped up in my work, life and other projects that I hardly ever went out lunch, made phone calls or just stopped by to say hello to some really great people. I’ve learned that good friends are an amazing thing that everyone should learn to cherish.
> Keep on blogging, taking pictures and maybe add a video or two!
> Make a new path from an old one. At some point we cannot continue to expect changes when we continue to engage in repetitive patterns. Change is not always a bad thing.
> Organize my bedroom/bathroom to simulate a divine spa like experience.
> Paint my Toenails more.
> Start yoga classes or running again. Hell, maybe both – but that is way too much like one of those nasty, “I’m going to lose weight resolution” so we won’t go into detail.
> Nurture my banana grove and have more hog roasts! See previous posts!
> Laugh more. This has been a tough year. I’m looking forward to new, less stressful times!
